Form Four Leavers to Access Kenya Utalii College Courses Through KUCCPS Starting 2026

Nairobi, January 20, 2026 — Form Four graduates aspiring to pursue hospitality and tourism studies will now enjoy expanded access to training opportunities following a historic partnership between the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) and Kenya Utalii College.

Under this new arrangement, students will, for the first time, apply to Kenya Utalii College through the KUCCPS placement platform. The move is expected to simplify the admission process and broaden national access to the institution’s internationally recognized hospitality and tourism programs.

The rollout of this collaboration is scheduled ahead of the 2026 KUCCPS placement application cycle for universities and TVET institutions.

Speaking during a joint meeting held at Kenya Utalii College in Nairobi, KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer Dr. Agnes Mercy Wahome and the college’s Principal, Mr. Mark Rachuonyo Ogendi, termed the partnership a major milestone in improving access to quality technical and professional training.

Dr. Wahome emphasized that the KUCCPS placement framework promotes transparency, merit-based selection, and equal opportunity, allowing institutions to attract students from across the country. She added that the system supports national representation and inclusivity in higher education enrollment.

The two leaders further noted that the partnership will extend beyond student placement to include labor market research, career development pathways, and grassroots outreach aimed at encouraging youth participation in technical and vocational training programs.

This initiative aligns with the government’s broader strategy of decentralizing training opportunities and bringing education services closer to communities. Recently, the two institutions collaborated with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Tourism during the launch of Kenya Utalii College programs at Tinderet Integrated Training and Vocational Institute in Nandi County.

Mr. Ogendi also revealed that the partnership will allow Kenya Utalii College to collaborate with other hospitality and tourism training institutions to standardize curriculum delivery and improve training quality nationwide.

Kenya Utalii College now joins other specialized institutions that have adopted the KUCCPS placement system, including the Kenya School of Law and the Morendat Institute of Oil and Gas. In the previous year, the Kenya School of Law introduced its Diploma in Law (Paralegal Studies) through the KUCCPS platform, while Morendat made its certificate and diploma programs accessible via the same system.

According to Mr. Ogendi, the KUCCPS collaboration will enhance the college’s national reach as it expands its campuses to regions such as Kisumu, Kilifi, and Narok counties.

Kenya Utalii College, a UN Tourism affiliate member and recognized Centre of Excellence, has provided hospitality and tourism training for over five decades. The institution is known for its competency-based approach, producing graduates who meet international employment standards.

Many alumni of the college currently hold positions in leading hospitality and tourism establishments both locally and internationally.

KUCCPS, established under the Universities Act of 2012, is mandated to manage government-sponsored student placements, provide career guidance services, and maintain national higher education placement data, among other responsibilities.
