The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has officially invited applications for the Diploma in Law programme at the Kenya School of Law (KSL) for the May 2026 intake.

In a notice issued on Monday, February 23, KUCCPS announced that prospective students interested in pursuing paralegal training can now apply through the official KUCCPS online portal. The application window opened on February 23 and will close on March 9, 2026.

Entry Requirements

To qualify for the Diploma in Law programme, applicants must have:

  • A minimum mean grade of C (plain) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).

  • At least a C+ (plus) in either English or Kiswahili.

Candidates who meet these requirements are encouraged to complete their applications before the stated deadline.

Study Locations and Mode of Learning

The programme will be offered at the Kenya School of Law’s Karen Campus and Town Campus located in Nairobi’s Central Business District.

Students will have flexibility in choosing their preferred mode of study. They may attend in-person day classes or enroll in evening virtual sessions, depending on their availability and convenience.

About the Diploma in Law (Paralegal Studies)

The Diploma in Law, commonly referred to as Paralegal Studies, is structured to provide learners with essential legal knowledge and practical skills. Graduates are prepared to assist advocates, judicial officers, and other legal professionals in administrative and legal support roles within the justice system and related institutions.

Broader Placement Context

The opening of applications for the Kenya School of Law diploma programme comes as thousands of candidates who completed the 2025 KCSE examinations await the launch of university placement applications by KUCCPS.

Earlier in 2026, the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) began accepting applications through KUCCPS. University placement applications are expected to open by March 2026.

According to the Ministry of Education, 993,000 candidates sat for the 2025 KCSE examinations. Of these:

  • 270,715 candidates attained a mean grade of C+ and above, qualifying for direct university admission.

  • 507,131 candidates scored C (plain) and above.

  • 634,082 candidates achieved D+ and above.

Eligible students interested in the Diploma in Law are advised to submit their applications promptly through the KUCCPS portal before the March 9 deadline.
